Our goal is to make energy more affordable and sustainable for New Yorkers, in the near term and the long term.

In the near term, we want to ensure that everyone who is already eligible for discounts gets what they are entitled to. That means helping utility customers sign up for existing programs and pushing to make the programs automatic so people don’t get lost in bureaucracy when they try to enroll.

Long term, we shouldn’t be paying so much money for an electric grid that is only becoming more expensive, less reliable, and keeping us hooked on fossil fuels that are driving the climate crisis. We advocate for policies to make our electric grid more affordable, cleaner, and more reliable. This means changing how we generate electricity to focus on renewable energy sources, and making sure we have robust storage options for electricity to manage strain on the grid during times of high demand.
